Lead Graphic Designer, Motion & Brand
We're hiring a Lead Graphic Designer to own the visual quality of everything we produce, for our own brand and for our clients.
About Legacy
Legacy is a growth-focused technology company built to help ambitious organizations turn marketing into a measurable engine for growth. We combine strategy, creative, media, technology, and data to build brands that matter and systems that perform.
Content is an increasingly important part of how Legacy builds authority, develops audiences, communicates ideas, and creates demand. We're investing heavily in original video, thought leadership, documentary-style storytelling, social content, and high-end branded creative.
Our Creative team also produces content for two media properties of our own:
Reformark
Is a Legacy Studios brand creating thoughtful, accessible content rooted in Reformed Christian theology, produced with our theologian in residence. Its work brings theological depth, real conversations, biblical teaching, and good storytelling to modern digital audiences.
What Scale DemandsTM
Is Legacy's business-focused show exploring what happens when companies grow, including the decisions, systems, leadership, marketing, people, technology, and operational discipline required to build organizations that can scale. Through conversations with business leaders, founders, executives, and operators, the show moves past surface-level business advice and into what sustainable growth really takes.
The Role
Legacy is a marketing and growth intelligence company working with multi-location service businesses and mission-driven organizations. You'll own the visual quality of everything we produce, for our own brand and for our clients. That covers ad campaigns, motion graphics, video and podcast packages, brand systems, websites, and sales materials.
You'll get an objective rather than a brief with every decision already made. We need someone who can turn that objective into a strong concept, explain the thinking behind it, and carry it through to finished work. This role works in person with our creative team in Staunton.
What You'll Do
Advertising.
Design static and animated creative for Meta, Google, LinkedIn, YouTube, and display. Build multiple concepts, test them, and refine based on campaign results.
Motion and video.
Create opening sequences, titles, lower thirds, data graphics, thumbnails, and episode packages for our shows, What Scale DemandsTM and Reformark, along with client video work. You'll design the visual system and how it moves.
Brand.
Build and maintain identity systems across Legacy and client brands, covering social, presentations, sales collateral, print, events, and merchandise.
Web.
Consult with our marketers and developers on websites and landing pages so the finished product matches the creative direction. You won't be writing code, but you should know hierarchy, responsive design, and conversion-focused layout.
Standards.
As the creative team grows, help set the design systems, processes, and direction other designers and partners will follow.
Where AI Fits
AI belongs in the prep work: research, reference gathering, early exploration, and testing how far new tools can go. It doesn't make client work. What we deliver to clients comes from your hands and your judgment.
We do expect you to keep up with how these tools are changing and to tell us plainly which ones deserve a place in the process. Your creative intuition and craft come first, every time.
Design Has to Accomplish Something
Every piece you make should answer a few questions: who it's for, what they notice first, what they should feel, and what we're asking them to do. Experience with performance marketing, agencies, or growth-focused teams will serve you well here.
What We're Looking For
- A portfolio that shows your thinking as clearly as your execution
- Strong fundamentals in typography, layout, and brand identity
- Real motion graphics ability and experience creating graphics for video
- Advertising campaign experience across digital and print
- Confidence presenting ideas, defending decisions, and giving and receiving feedback
- The ability to run several projects at once without close supervision
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Figma
- A degree in design, motion, visual communication, or advertising is welcome but not required. Your work carries more weight.
You'll do well here if you notice details other people miss, prefer ownership to oversight, and speak up when you see a stronger idea. The person in this seat will help define what great creative work looks like at Legacy.

We'd love to see the work you'd put your name on, including brand systems, campaign creative, and motion work, with a note on what you did on each. A handful of projects you're proud of tells us plenty.
Good enough isn't a reason to publish. If that's how you think too, we'd love to hear from you.
